Children's Church

We are passionate about our children, and have a fun-packed, thriving children’s ministry, which focuses not only on entertaining children but on helping them to find out for themselves what it means to follow Jesus.

Our vision is for every child to KNOW God, GROW in their faith, and LOVE the world - we do this by providing:

  • A welcoming, safe and friendly environment
  • Fun and creative activities for the children to explore and grow in their faith
  • Quality Bible teaching that inspires and challenges in an interactive way
  • Time for children to share their ideas, experiences and build friendships.

At the 9.15am and 11am services we run activities in groups for approximately 200 children, as well as providing creche facilities at the 9.15am service. These groups, led by volunteers and church team give children a quality church experience that is engaging, fun and meaningful.

Crèche at the 9.15am service (0 - 18months). We have crèche provision in the Side Chapel at the 9.15am service, that looks after little ones aged 0 - 18months. There is a chance for play, books, drinks and snacks too. In this space there are comfy sofas for feeding children as well as changing facilities.

Tiny Treasures (18m to school age) meets in the crypt and caters for children from around 18 months until they start school. The children are registered when you bring them downstairs and are given a badge before going into the group. Parents are free to stay with their child until they are confident to be left alone.

Bright Lights (ages 4-7) meets in the Upper Hall and is for children in Reception to Year 2. We have a mix of free play, group games and craft activities and we also have a teaching time where we explore themes from the Bible through interactive storytelling and drama. We find creative ways to pray and worship and encourage children to share their stories and pray for each other.

Junior Explorers (ages 7-11) meets round the corner from Woodlands at SS Peter and Paul School on Aberdeen Road and is for children in school years 3-6. We have a mix of small groups, team challenges, bible teaching (using drama, interviews, storytelling and media) and worship and prayer time that can be quiet and reflective or loud and active!

Kids Football. If your kids are into football, we host a special football group on a Sunday morning, that combines some football skills and training as well a short 'God-slot'. It's a great way to mix the best of both worlds for young boys and girls who love to stay active and have lots of energy.

More than Just Sundays

Children's Homegroups - we believe that children can gain an awful lot from joining Junior Homegroups. These groups meet in homes are an opportunity for primarily Junior school aged children to develop relationships and explore faith together.

Weekends Away - we have two camps each year, one in March and one in November. They give children a great opportunity for fun, adventure and development.

Holiday Club - each year we turn Woodies into a castle, a pirate ship, the wild west, a circus – you name it – we’ve done it. An opportunity for children in Reception-Year 6 to come together for a week of fun, craft, games, teaching and GUNGE! All whilst learning more about God and the relationship He wants to have with them. Check out the photos from the 2017 Holiday Club.

Throughout the year there are a variety of other events for children. For information on those or anything else, get in touch with the children's church team or email Ruth or Zoe.
