Midweek Small Groups & Pastorates
'Midweek church' and community life happens, during the week, in small groups and pastorates.
'Small groups' are groups of a few people that meet together for worship, bible study and to hang out socially. Several small groups join together to form a Pastorate, with about thirty members.
Both provide a place of community and belonging, where you can grow in your faith and develop as a disciple. Some example of the groups we run are below.
FOOTPRINTS (Adults with Learning Difficulties) evenings meeting fortnightly at Etlo Church, Cossins Rd, BS6 7LY. There’s no age limit and all are welcome. Contact Kirstie Weaver
NETTIE & DAVE'S GROUP meets on the 3rd Monday of the month at Woodlands. This is a group for people who are 40+ Led by Nettie Matthews & David Mitchell. Contact Nettie Matthews
ROCK PASTORATE meets fortnightly at Woodlands. It's led by a team who are passionate about knowing and following Jesus. We have three local homegroups in Clifton, Montpelier and Harbourside. Contact Helen Wilkins

SOURCE is a 20s-30s evening meeting, fortnightly in central Bristol. Led by a team and has 2 home groups meeting every other week. Contact Lorna Stanley

EASTON IN GORDANO meet weekly and are an international mix of English, Malaysian, Mexican and Taiwanese members. We are spread out across Bristol, Pill/Easton-in-Gordano and Portishead, all within about 20 minutes drive of each other. Contact Rob Gentilli

KNOWLE PASTORATE meets during term time in Knowle, Tuesdays 7.45 - 9.30pm. We look at how Christianity can be real to us in the busyness of day-to-day routine, how living in relationship with God can be exciting, inspiring and transformational for our families & communities.Contact Karen Egitto.
NORTH BRISTOL PASTORATE meets weekly in Westbury on Trym. Contact Cat Gray
THE ALPHA COURSE runs on Wednesday evenings a few times a year. Alpha is designed for people who are interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. There is a meal, followed by a thought provoking talk, then a chance to ask questions and discuss in a small group context. Visit the Alpha Course page.
BEACONS PASTORATE meets in the evenings weekly at Woodlands. We work with internationals. Anyone from any country is welcome to join!
FLYER meets fortnightly in St Werburghs. The group is aimed at people who wish to investigate Jesus and faith, for whom Sunday service attendance or traditional bible studies is not the right fit. Contact Gregg Thompson

ROOTS PASTORATE is a young adults pastorate currently meeting fortnightly on Thursdays at a cafe on Cheltenham Road – with a passion to see the good news of Jesus shared with others. It’s led by a team headed up by Steve and April Ballard. Contact Steve & April Ballard
OAK meets 20s-30s is a young adults pastorate meeting fortnightly at Woodlands, with a passion to see the good news of Jesus shared with others. There are also homegroups meeting around that. Contact Caroline Dangerfield
OPEN ACCESS meets weekly 10.30am to 1pm in the crypt. It's a flexible group used by a wide range of people - people who feel on the edge of church; those with mental health issues; people with learning difficulties; people of other nationalities; those who have served time in prison; people breaking free from addictions. DAYTIME HOMEGROUP meets at Henleaze and Westbury church hall, Eastfield Road weekly on Fridays during term time from 10am-12 noon. It’s a place for women to be real and seek God in a friendly environment. Women from any of the congregations are welcome. Contact Barbara Bulman
Nurture for women of any age who want to grow in their relationship with God. We meet in the foyer on Friday mornings (term-time only) door open at 9.30 for for coffee and cake, main session runs 10-11. Creche available for under 5's. For more contact Jo Brown
DEVOTION is the youth congregation of Woodlands Church. It meets weekly during term time on Friday evenings at 7.30pm at Woodlands and has small group time on Sundays. The age range is 13-18 years old.Contact Chris Duncan
WOODIES BIKERS is a motorcycle group set up in June 2009. We encompass all styles of riding, and all sizes of motorbikes. We organise rideouts, socials, camping trips and weeks away. Primarily this is an acitivity-based outreach group, providing a safe place for both Christians and non-Christians to ride together. Contact Chris Gregory for more.
