As we’ve grown, so too has our team, and at Woodlands Metro we have an exciting opportunity for someone to lead the team as Congregational Leader reporting into the WCF Senior Leader David Mitchell.

Woodlands Metro is a thriving city church with a vision ‘to transform Bristol with the love and power of God’. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of leading church as part of a team, bringing strategic thinking, operating executive skills and is passionate about turning vision into reality. They must show mature gifting in ministry, have strong communication skills, be passionate about Jesus and love the church. A secure and proven leader.

Candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, able to take initiative, work well in a team and be committed to see the church community grow in their faith and reach the city for Jesus.  


ABOUT THE ROLE

Key areas of work for the position of Metro Congregational Leader include: 

1.    Vision, Strategy and Culture - Implementing and maintaining the vision of Woodlands Metro. Develop strategies and plans that serve the mission to help people find faith in Jesus and a place in his family, to grow in discipleship and be a blessing to the City of Bristol.

2.    Resourcing Sunday Services - Support the smooth running of Sunday Services.

3.    Midweek Church Communities - Supporting and growing midweek Church communities in line with our vision and holding the spiritual and pastoral oversight of these leaders under the support and direction of the Central senior leaders.

4.    Pastoral oversight - Keep an overview of the pastoral needs of the Congregation to include ensuring Safeguarding is in place and ‘second line’ pastoral care is accessible.

5.    Outreach - With the leadership team audit needs and gospel opportunities and develop strategies to meet those needs and opportunities.

6.    Represent Metro – Represent Metro both within WCF and as local church leader in the community and local institutions.

Occupational Requirement
This role has an occupational requirement that the post holder be a follower of Jesus and to be a worshipping member of the Woodlands Church Family, Woodlands Metro (if not already) to ensure protection of our strong Christian ethos and values, and our charitable objective of advancing the Christian faith. We also want to ensure all team members thrive and flourish in this environment.  

Relocation
If relocating to Bristol, Woodlands Church Family will reimburse reasonable relocation expenses.

Terms

  • Permanent, contracted part-time position at up to 4 days (30 hrs per week).

  • Salary band: £29K – £31K pro rata, depending on experience.

  • Annual holiday entitlement: 25 days pro rata plus 8 days bank holiday pro rata.

The role will be based at Woodlands Church in Clifton, Bristol and there is a requirement should the post holder relocate to Bristol they will be a worshipping member of Woodlands Church Family, Woodlands Metro.

  • These are permanent positions contracted with the option of 2 days a week to 4.5/5 days a week in combination. 

  • The salary will be £25,570 - £28,000 pro rata, depending on experience.

  • The annual holiday entitlement is 25 days pro rata, plus 8 days bank holiday pro rata.

The roles will be based at Branch Community Church in Henbury, The Community Church in Southmead or Highgrove Church in Sea Mills, all in North Bristol, depending on the combination of roles. Travel between the different sites will be required.

Vacancy for Assistant Children's Minister

The Woodlands Church Family (WCF) is a vibrant, growing family of churches with six sites located across the city of Bristol and a vision to plant more. As we’ve grown, so too has our team, and we have an exciting opportunity for within our Children’s Team.

The position of Assistant Children’s Minister at Woodlands Central and Children’s and Community Worker at Branch Community Church can be delivered as a 4.5 day a week role, working across both sites. Alternatively, the individual roles could be filled separately at 2.5 days for the Woodlands Central position and 2 days for the Branch position.

Candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, able to take initiative, work well in a team and be passionate to see children grow in their faith.


The Role

The Assistant Children’s Church Minister at Central role will include the following duties, for example:

  • Planning and leading groups working with children aged 0-11.

  • Helping to support a strong team of volunteers, and resource the different Sunday morning groups.

  • Working with the children's team to review and develop processes to ensure the ministry continues to grow.

The Children’s and Community Worker at Branch role will include the following duties, for example:

  • You will be responsible for working with the Branch Leadership team to coordinate and oversee our children’s provision, both on a Sunday and during the week.

Terms

  • This is a permanent position contracted with the option of:

    • 4.5 days / 33hrs 45mins per week (both roles)

    • 2.5days / 18hours 45mins per week (role at Central)

  • The salary band for this role is £23,550 - £24,500 pro rata, depending on experience.

  • The annual holiday entitlement is 25 days pro rata plus 8 days bank holiday pro rata.

Vacancy for Youth Minister (Part Time)

Woodlands Central is a large and vibrant, city centre church that serves the city of Bristol as part of one of six church sites in the Woodlands Church Family. Our vision is to see our city transformed by the love and power of Jesus.

Central to our plans to reach this city for Jesus are young people! In Bristol, there are 90,000 young people who don’t have regular contact with church or faith. We would love to see this change!


The Role

We are looking for someone who can work alongside the youth director, full-time youth minister and established youth team and congregation leaders to help our youth ministry double its impact in the next 5 years. Within this role, the youth minister will inspire and equip the Youth Team within Woodlands Central to share faith, disciple and equip young people to live lives of whole-hearted devotion and commitment to Jesus.

Terms

  • This is a part time, permanent contract at 2.5 days per week.

  • The salary for this role is £23,500.00 – £24,250.00 pro rata, depending on experience. We give a generous leave allowance of 33 days including bank holidays.

  • The role will be primarily based at Woodlands Church in Clifton, Bristol with flexible and home working available by arrangement. The working pattern can be negotiated and a term time only contract may be considered for this role.

  • The detailed terms and conditions will be contained in the post-holders Contract of Employment and the staff handbook.

  • There will be a three-month probationary period with a review point after six weeks. An appraisal will take place to confirm completion of the probationary period and appraisals will take place annually thereafter.

Vacancy for HR Lead

The Woodlands Church Family is a vibrant, growing family of churches with six churches located across the city of Bristol and a vision to plant more. As we’ve grown, so too has our staff team, and we now have over 50 employees.

We are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our team and help us as we continue to develop our working practices and culture, so that all staff are supported and encouraged to flourish in their roles.

The Role
The HR Lead will oversee our staff recruitment, development and performance review process as well as working with our Trustees and Senior Leadership to ensure we have a healthy workplace culture and positive staff wellbeing. The HR Lead will also have a key role in compliance, ensuring we reflect current regulations and guidance in our practices and documentation.

Terms
The role will be part time, ideally 3-4 days a week with an FTE salary of £30,000-£35,000 depending on experience and qualifications. The annual holiday entitlement is 25 days pro rata. The role will primarily be based at Woodlands Church in Clifton, Bristol with flexible and home working available by arrangement.
